Children aged 8 to 12 years can join us for one or both Bush School sessions in the July school holidays. In this session, participants will learn about fire and food, including:- discovering traditional uses of native plants, including medicine and food
- seasonal influences on hunting and gathering foods / storage / farming methods
- Fire safety, when, where, how to make a fire and safely extinguishing it
- making damper using native herbs and sharing a meal
- story telling
Parents will drop their children off for the session. Children with a disability can attend with a support person.
Groups are small with only up to 10 children per session.
Cost is $40 per child per session to be paid in cash on the day of via bank transfer to Friends of Barossa Bushgardens.
