Join us Saturday, October 4th when local author Allene Halliday stops by to sign copies of her memoirs Fifties Kids and Diary of a Dancin' Girl (co-produced with her sister Pat Kuklenski.These fun-filled memoirs of two stage struck sisters are set in the fabulous fifties when movies were bigger than ever, vaudeville was still popular, and nightclubs were in cities and towns across the U.S.A. After the girls joined a chorus line in Seattle, they became part of a musical revue performing successfully throughout the country. However, television began coming into homes and was changing the entertainment scene. Their adventures during that dynamic era provides the momentum for these fast-paced stories.
