BOOKING ESSENTIAL. Take a closer look at returning Svalbard Barnacle Geese around and over our heads as we head down to one of the hides at Mersehead.
With flocks of ducks, geese and wading birds arriving in massive numbers. This will give you a chance to see it all close-up and learn how we manage this special place for nature.
Part of the Dumfries & Galloway Wild Goose Festival - celebrating the return of wintering geese to this part of Scotland and deepening our connection to the natural habitats of our region, giving a sense of nature, creativity and place.
Please come prepared for cold or wet weather and bring binoculars if you have some (we will provide a telescope for extra close viewing).
All children must be accompanied by ticketed adults. Families welcome, with a scavenger hunt for kids (though not suitable for early years).
This walk will take place along our wheelchair accessible trail.
Please note, as the reserve location is prone to flooding, we ask that all individuals/groups attending provide a telephone number, so we can notify you in advance if the event is cancelled.
