The Event
A barn dance Two-Step lesson for beginners. You’ll learn the basics of Two-Step. Come on your own, with friends, or bring your dance partner. Master basic steps and turns + partner connection and frame, and leave ready to honky tonk the weekend away.

The barn loft of organic Green Gate Farms located within Village Farm tiny home community in East Austin.
The Instructors
Jacobi Alvarez is a dancer and Austinite who has over 4 years of teaching experience and 22 years of dance experience.
Jeremy Goheen has been dancing in Austin’s unique two-step scene for 6 years. He has taught lessons with Double or Nothing Two step and others.
About Two-Step
Since the late 19th century, communities all around Texas have come together to dance to what has regionally been referred to as the “Texas Two-step.” This dance, a variation of the Foxtrot with German and Czech influence, has evolved and expanded ever since. Fluid and organic in nature, the Texas Two-Step has taken on a life of its own here in Austin. Dancers in the Austin two-step community work outside of conventions by drawing on a variety of styles including salsa, swing, and blues, making for a vibrant and playful dance form.
