Fall fun for Fido and families is returning to Downtown Hampton’s beautiful waterfront for the Peninsula SPCA’s 18th annual Barktoberfest festival on October 5, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The shelter’s annual fall fundraiser will feature live music, local craft beer, food trucks, lots of local vendors, costume contests for pets and people with cash prizes, and more dog-friendly contests and activities for everyone to enjoy! This year, amazing live music will be featured on the Woofstock Stage by Later That Night with special guests Lost Soul Society, presented by Carol & Frank, VCA and WM. Plus, the Bow Wow Beer Garden sponsored by Colonial Webb will offer a variety of local craft brews from Alewerks Brewing, Billsburg Brewery, Oozlefinch, Sly Clyde Ciderworks, St. George Brewing, and Tradition Brewing. Delicious food and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase from local food trucks Southern Hospitality and Get Cheesy, and there will be pet-friendly vendors, local rescues with adoptable animals, and more!
This Fido-friendly festival will offer lots of fall activities for guests AND their pups, including bobbing for tennis balls and a dog cake walk! The popular and pup-tacular costume contest will feature two categories, Pets Only and Pets & People, and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place in each category. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their costumes and dress to impress, as competition can be fierce!
