Want to know how the 5D works? The fastest average time of the day sets the 1st Division. You add 1 second to that time and it sets the 2nd Division, the add 2 seconds to the fastest time and that sets the 3rd Division and so on. So if the fast time of the day is a 7.5 - the 1D would be from 7.5 to 8.49, the 2D would be from 8.5 to 9.49, the 3D would be from 9.5 to 10.4 and so on. The division times can (and do) change with every race based on the who ran the fastest that day. Awards are based on the placings in each division so every dog has a chance to win!
