Barefoot & Sunshine is an Americana/Roots duo dead set on making and sharing their music full-time. Both originally from different sides of Iowa, and then existing in parallel in the same music scene for many years, they recently formed the group down in New Orleans after connecting mid-pandemic.Dean Mattoon and Esme Alexis blend style and voice, writing about such things as death, goodbyes, the way they wish things were, and a few good times, of course. But no matter what the sentiment, you’d be hard-pressed to find them playing a song that didn’t have great meaning to them.
