On Friday, October 10, join us as we celebrate Banned Book Week! This month our Babes are baring more than just their behinds: fighting censorship and daring to read from *gasp* Banned Books!The Banned Books Week Coalition is an international alliance of diverse organizations joined by a commitment to increase awareness about censorship attempts and to encourage the defense of the freedom to read. The Coalition seeks to engage various communities and inspire participation in Banned Books Week through education, advocacy, and the creation of programming about the problem of book censorship.

It's empowering, poignant, funny, enticing, and smart; reviving the art of live literary salons and normalizing the idea of nudity as something that can be celebrated and not necessarily sexual. Our readings are insightful, creative, thought provoking and sometimes hilarious. There is no larger, woven-in, multi-layered, overly complex message- nothing pretentious, nothing seedy.
