About this Event

The most famous love story of all time, staged as an immersive promenade production amid the natural beauty of the Fredericton Botanic Garden

Shakespeare’s famous tale of the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet, whose love is doomed by the enmity between their warring families, is filled with beautiful poetry and music, comic and bittersweet moments, and thrilling swordplay. Rediscover this iconic drama in an exciting immersive experience with Bard in the Barracks’ production. You will be at the centre of the action, following the play from scene to scene amidst the natural beauty of the Fredericton Botanic Garden. As the play spirals towards its tragic conclusion as the sun sets, don’t be surprised if you leave at the end of the night thinking this is the most memorable Romeo and Juliet you will ever see.

All tickets online and at the door will be “choose your own” ticket price, with available options of:

$15 = Discounted Price–recommended for: Students, Seniors, Underwaged, those attending as part of a family group (of 4 or more), those attending both productions who have already purchased a Regular or Full Price ticket for Twelfth Night.

$25 = recommended Regular Price

$35 = Full Price (Patron/Supporter)—recommended for: those who would like to bundle their ticket purchase with a donation to help support the work of Bard in the Barracks. Comes with a commemorative 2024 season program, poster, and button.

Children 9 and under: Free.

For those coming as a group (couples, families, a group of friends), feel free to choose tickets at different price points to reflect your budget as a group or as individuals.

See both shows for a discount!

And if you’re taking in both our plays this year (highly recommended!) feel free to mix and match ticket prices between the shows to earn the equivalent of the savings on our former 2-show passes (which were sold priced at: first show regular price, second show half price).

Advance tickets purchased for rained-out performances can be used for subsequent shows or returned for refund (email our house manager at [email protected] to arrange your refund). If rain forces the cancellation of a performance already in progress, audience members can return to a subsequent performance for free admittance, or can opt for a ticket refund if the stoppage occurs prior to halfway through the show.
