1. Topic: Build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system in PHP
Speaker: Enrico Zimuel, Elastic

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is an architecture that leverages a Large Language Model (LLM) to enable querying a private knowledge base without the need for fine-tuning. By using a vector database, we can retrieve relevant document chunks to help answer the query, and pass this information to an LLM to generate a response. We will demonstrate how to implement a RAG system in PHP using open-source technologies: LLPhant, Llama 3.2, and Elasticsearch.
About the Speaker: Enrico Zimuel, Tech Lead and Principal Software Engineer at Elastic. Adjunct professor of Machine Learning at University of Turin and Applied Statistics at University of Roma Tre. TEDx and international speaker in 130+ conferences. Programmer since 1996 and open source contributors of many projects (e.g. LLPhant, LangChain, Zend Framework). Former core comittee member of PHP-FIG. MSc in Data Analytics and BSc in Economics and Computer Science. Co-founder of PHP User Group of Turin (Italy).
