Barb’s Precious Rescue and Adoption Center will host its Annual Open House on Saturday September 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. This year’s event shines a spotlight on connecting with the community and sharing our mission of saving cats in need. Guests will also get a first look at plans for a dedicated Adoption Center to be built on the adjacent lot — an exciting next step in expanding our impact.
The 2025 Open House highlights include:
Meet adoptable cats and kittens
Guided tours of the facility including David Helt Veterinary Care Center
Limited-edition merchandise ($15 short sleeve $20 long sleeve) sweatshirts ($50) and water bottles ($15)
Cat shaped cookies for sale (made by a volunteer Baked By Jane Dough)

Barb’s Precious Rescue and Adoption Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a no-K*ll cage-free environment for rescued animals. Located at 313 N. Quentin Rd. Palatine Illinois 60067 Barb’s Precious Rescue operates solely on public donations and the efforts of its volunteer staff. Founded by Barb Weber in 2014 Barb’s Precious Rescue has grown from a small initiative into a fully operational shelter. Since its founding Barb’s Precious Rescue has provided care for over 5000 cats and kittens offering food shelter and medical services including on-site veterinary care. The rescue’s mission is to find forever homes for each animal operating as a no-K*ll cage-free shelter supported by public donations and over 200 volunteers.
