About this Event
Barbershop Talks: Black Men's Suicide Prevention & Chronic Health Support
NSBE Boston’s mission is to empower Black engineers to excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact their communities. Health is essential to making that mission a reality. When our members are thriving—physically, mentally, and emotionally—they’re better equipped to lead, support each other, and drive change.
As part of our Movember Challenge, Barbershop Conversations is the cornerstone event, focused on promoting wellness and addressing critical issues like mental health, prostate health, and suicide prevention that deeply impact our community. This gathering will equip attendees with practical strategies to manage mental health challenges, with a special emphasis on suicide prevention, all while balancing the demands of work and life. It’s also an opportunity to build connections, creating a networking space for our collegiate students and professionals to support one another.
About Our Speaker

Dr. Pierre’s expertise will guide discussions around Black men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and chronic health challenges, empowering Black engineers and professionals at every career stage.
