A new year means you need a new journal! Why not make it yourself? The Barber Pole Journal is a traditional long stitch sewn book with a hard cover and fun decorative spine sewing that evokes a barber pole. This journal structure is great for both writing and drawing because the book opens very flat and will contain sturdy mixed media paper. The spine will be made from an innovative material called Kraft-tex which is a form of leather-like paper. There will be a fun array of possible Chiyogami Japanese papers for the covers and threads for the decorative sewing. Everyone’s book will be their own!
