The 39th annual Winterfest provides something fun to do for people of all ages!Dates: January 31-February 2
55+ Social & Carnival– Free event for those ages 55 & older.
Whether you’re testing your luck at the carnival booths, enjoying some tunes, or simply socializing with friends, this event promises plenty of joy and excitement for everyone. Come for the games, stay for the memories, and leave with a smile! Refreshments will be provided. Presented by Baraboo Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department

Winter VR & STEM- Join us to discover STEM meteorology careers while performing higher-level experiments, all having to do with winter! Participants will have an opportunity to play "On the Ice: Weather Station," an immersive Virtual Reality game, highlighting the real experience of polar researchers in Antarctica. Presented by Carnegie Shadde Memorial Library

Annual Winterfest 5K Fun Run/Walk- Runners will be divided into different age groups, and there will be awards for the top finishers in the age groups. T-shirts to all pre-registered runners. Proceeds go to future Civic Center program improvements.
Runners should meet at the Baraboo Civic Center to check-in

Indoor Community Picnic- Escape the winter chill and join us for a fun-filled indoor picnic as part of Winterfest 2025! We’re bringing all your favorite summer picnic vibes—minus the bugs and sunburn. Bring your sack lunch. We will have games set up in the gym for a fun time.

Box Fort Bonanza- Let's reuse some of those old boxes that you have to build some really cool box forts! The only cost to attend this fun event is bringing your own boxes. We will provide scissors, tape, and markers to help decorate. Participants will have two hours to build their fort.

Indoor Open Skate- Stop by and do some skating. Limited skate rental available for a small fee. Presented by Thunderbird Youth Hockey.
