About this Event
Banshee Tree remains one of the best kept musical secrets in the country, although inevitably not for long. This high-energy quartet from Boulder, CO explore dynamics of sound through mystical corridors while blending modern, indie trance and psychedelic rock with gypsy jazz. They draw a thread from a modern music paradigm to earthy acoustic roots in a way that seems to spin the whole world on its axis. They take audiences on an untethered sonic adventure which always remains grounded in the art of brilliant songcraft. Their previous two Crazy Horse performances left audiences stunned and craving more.
Thom LaFond is as vibey as frontmen come, able to conjure breathtaking emotion framed by simmering guitar solos escalating into the stratosphere. His songwriting gift exceeds what most will ever be able to achieve in terms of alchemizing emotional impact with groove-centric compositions. The hypnotic, deceptively complex drumming of Michelle Pietrafitta (Lindsay Lou) is as fun to watch as it is to dance to. The upright bass of Jason Bertone holds it all together with a rich resonance and funky swing. Banshee Tree’s newest member is Jesse Shantor on sax and keys. He is clearly the x-factor the band didn’t even know it needed to ascend to the next level.
Their highly improvisational live show makes crowds go wild, while their cutting-edge, indie-style songwriting quenches cerebral cravings. There is nothing quite like it on the scene.
