On October 5th from 10am-12pm, Bards Alley will be hosting a read-in/postcard writing event to coincide with the start of Banned Books Week. This is a collaborative event with Libro.fm and Silent Book Club.Tickets may be purchased at https://bardsalley.square.site/shop/book-orders/11
There is a small deposit of $8 to secure your spot. This deposit may be used toward an in-store purchase on the day of the read-in. All attendees will also receive a free audiobook of Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller, redeemable on Libro.fm.
TIMELINE:
10:00am - Doors open
10:20am - Short introduction by staff on Banned Books Week and how the event will go, info on resources and claiming your free audiobook
10:30am - Silent reading/postcard writing begins!
11:30am - Silent reading ends, attendees welcome to continue reading, write postcards, or browse
12:00pm - Store opens to the public, event officially ends, though you are more than welcome to hang around for longer or browse the store/make purchases
We encourage you to bring your friends or chat with your neighbors at the event if you're solo-ing.
A limited number of chairs will be provided, but if you have the ability, we encourage you to bring your own chair (collapsible/outdoor/foldable/bean bag all welcome!)
