Banned Books Club @ Books & Books creates a space for young people across Miami to share ideas and push back against expanding censorship. On the last Thursday of each month, we will meet at Books & Books in Coral Gables to create our community. The first meeting on August 31st will be an opportunity to meet each other and discuss what our collective reading will be. Some books might include: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, A Streetcar Named Desire by Arthur Miller, Push by Sapphire, Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale: My Father Bleeds History by Art Spiegelman, The Absolute Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, Go Tell it on the Mountain by James Baldwin, Their Eyes Were Watching Gods by Zora Neale Hurston, and more.
