About this Event
Despite how far we’ve come, the playing field is still not equal for women entrepreneurs in the U.S.
DID YOU KNOW?
- In 2023, startups founded exclusively by women received only about 2% of all VC investments in the United States
- The average loan size for woman-owned businesses is approx. 50% lower than her male counterpart
- Approximately 53% of woman-owned businesses are funded through personal savings, due to a lack of external funding sources
Today, women entrepreneurs still face many disparities when it comes to accessing the financial resources they need to thrive.
This must change NOW.
Her Texas is excited to announce the launch of our very first investment initiative, BankHER Community Investment Circles!
THE MISSION: Provide woman-owned businesses with an opportunity to apply for community-led business grants that will help her maintain and grow her business. Each grant is powered by a "BankHER Investment Circle".
WHAT IS A BANKHER CIRCLE: Led by a Circle Lead (or Co-Circle Leads), each BankHER Investment Circle pools its financial resources together every Investment Cycle (three months). The goal is to then issue all collected funds as a “no strings attached” grant to women entrepreneurs in their community. BankHER Circles are open to men and women to join and participate.
Each BankHER Circle will provide an easy and direct way to provide support and dollars back to women entrepreneurs in the community through social impact investing.
