Join us as we celebrate Bangladesh Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony and lighting display in the heart of Saskatoon! This special event honors the historic day of March 26, 1971, when Bangladesh gained its independence, marking the resilience, courage, and sacrifices of the nation.The Bangladeshi Students Association at the University of Saskatchewan invites the community to witness the hoisting of the Bangladesh flag at City Hall/Civic Square, accompanied by the national anthem and speeches reflecting on the significance of this day.
To further commemorate the occasion, Prairie Winds Monument and City hall in Saskatoon will be illuminated in red and green for the very first time, the colors of the Bangladesh flag, symbolizing freedom, unity, and the rich cultural heritage of the Bangladeshi people.
