Our gig night, every other month at The Hairy Dog brings fresh music to Derby's best venue. 2021... The year after the worst in memory. A time to restart. A time to crank the amps and hit the drums louder than ever.
Formed in February 2021, Syncolima wasted no time — within 4 months, they had written the 10-track debut Where The End Meets The Beginning, recorded at Arch Studios, Nottinghamshire.
Born out of frustration and two years of silence, the record was a fierce release — pure groove, grit, and heart.
In 2022, the band returned to the studio — this time at Electric Bear Studios — to begin work on album two. Released in April 2023, Wavelengths built on the foundation of their debut, with harder riffs, deeper grooves, and rawer emotion.
Now, in 2025, Syncolima is locked and loaded. With their third album complete, the band continues to evolve their sound—driven by Harry’s dynamic influence behind the kit and a sharper, more deliberate approach to songwriting. Lyrically, the new record tackles the state of the world today: the impact of social media on society, and the mental health struggles that come with being human in 2025.

SUNMACHINE are a Heavy Rock/Prog Rock band with a modern sound. This year, they released their single and Music Video “Mercy Killing”, to wide acclaim. The song achieved 25k+ views on YouTube and thousands of Streams on Spotify.
Their previous singles “Who’s It Gonna Be” and “Spine” from their debut album “The NovaEffect” also achieved thousands of Spotify streams, and were both met with highly positive critic feedback and radio play. The album contains striking prog songs, hard hitting ballads, and everything in between.
All bands are on a door split so they get a fair share of ticket sales - we take our expenses out AFTER bands have had their share. By supporting these gigs you are genuinely directly supporting bands. Of course as standard, unlike bigger venues neither us nor The Hairy Dog take commission from any merch sales.
