Bang Bang Experience is a 7-piece brass and drums ensemble playing the music of trumpet player, Sam Dechenne. Inspired by the sounds of international brass bands and Jazz ensembles, Funk and Reggae horn sections, West African and Latin American drumming, their sound is truly their own.
The rhythm section interweaves grooves and swaps roles throughout the performance for a visual and audible experience. Drum set, Cajon, Timbales, Congas, Surdo (Brazilian Bass Drum) and a variety of mixed percussion make up the intricate drum beats you’ll hear. The lower brass section takes on the bass role, rhythmic comping, inner harmonies and supporting melodies. Riding the musical wave on top is the trumpet, playing the main melody and voice of the band.
With Bang Bang, you’ll hear melodic and fiery solos from every member of the band, soft and intimate 3-part horn section compositions, exciting rhythm breaks and catchy melodies and horn riffs that will keep you on your feet and your ears open all night.

The Riki Rocksteady All-stars are a mixed group of local heavy hitters that have shared bills & stages with some of Reggae’s most iconic legends such as Lee Scratch Perry, The Skatalites, The Heptones, The Steady 45’s, The Aggrolites, Dion Knibb, Bim Skala Bim, Westbound Train, The Toasters, The Slackers, King Django and many, many more!
Riki Rocksteady himself, the namesake of the group, known to many already as a skilled songwriter, will simply blow you away as a band front man/performer! His powerhouse voice is a sweet but strong mix of classic R&B, soul & hints of jazz/blues. Riki is also rhythm guitar & harmonica during solo performances but including his three current bands, The Void Union, The Attractors & The Riki Rocksteady All-Stars.
There may not be one set designated lineup for The All-Stars but regardless of who is recruited, they are the musical “cream of the crop” & leave NOTHING to be desired from these impressive performances, getting the crowd on their feet, feeling the rhythm
