Southampton Concert Wind Band (SCWB) is inviting musicians (woodwinds, brasswinds, percussion and double bass) to apply to join them in rehearsing some fantastic wind band repertoire under the direction of their MD, Calum Gray. This event has evolved from SCWB's extremely popular annual Banding Together playdays held at the beginning of each year. Calum Gray will take the Summer Focus participants into an in-depth look at each piece of music. The level of detail in rehearsal means a playing standard of Grade 7 or above is recommended to get the full benefit of the day.The cost of the day will be just £20 per person but to keep the band balanced across sections, places are limited so early application is advised (via the below form). Once accepted onto the day, you will be sent information about how to pay, and further details of the event.
The day will end with a free performance of the pieces studied, at 3:30pm for family and friends.
