This introductory physical therapy class is designed to educate and empower individuals—especially runners, cyclists, and other active populations—on the prevention and effective management of Iliotibial Band (ITB) Syndrome. Participants will learn about the anatomy and biomechanics of the IT band, common risk factors contributing to ITB irritation, and evidence-based strategies to reduce pain and prevent recurrence.The class includes:
-Guided mobility and flexibility exercises targeting the IT band, hip flexors, glutes, and lateral thigh
-Strength training focused on hip and arch stabilization
-Education on training modifications, footwear, and surface considerations
-Self-care techniques including foam rolling and recovery strategies
By the end of the program, participants will have the tools to enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and manage symptoms of ITB syndrome effectively. Suitable for both individuals currently managing ITB issues and those aiming to prevent them.
