On May 18th, 2023, the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) will celebrate its first ever Kid’s Bops Rock Camp Benefit. This is the first of an annual cover show event we are spearheading to benefit the ZACC Youth Rock Camp programs. In the style of former ZACC community rock shows such as Rocktober and Rock Lotto, Kid’s Bops calls for local bands and musicians to sign up and get together with bands to cover an assigned set of ZACC rock camp classics – everything from songs about friendship and romance to Taco Bell indigestion to playing soccer on the moon and shapeshifting ducks!
This will culminate in an all-ages benefit show with local bands covering original kid’s rock camp songs and the Spring Kid’s Rock Camp performing their own original music.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the rock camp program from supporting the purchasing of new gear to funding scholarships.

BAND/ARTIST REQUIREMENTS
Band and solo artists must submit their application by February 27th and will hear back in the first week of March about their acceptance along with an assigned setlist of rock camp songs. Solo artists can elect to perform a solo set or partner with a band. We will work to curate the show to make sure it is eclectic and representational of Missoula’s unique music scene. And don’t worry to all you rock camp fanatics out there, there is a place in the submission form to request your favorite rock camp tunes to cover, which we will take into consideration in developing the perfect setlist for you and your band.
From that point, bands will be responsible for getting together and practicing to be prepared for the 5/18 show. Bands will all share one backline with a simple set up (in rock camp fashion) of drums, keys, bass and guitar.
All accepted bands who sign on must commit to rehearsing and performing.
DO NOT apply to be a part of this show if you cannot commit your time to learning your set and being performance ready for 5/18.

WHAT ARE ZACC YOUTH ROCK CAMPS?
The Alternative Music Program is ideal for musical kids who want to take their skills to the next level. Participants learn to build relationships and forge community connections, and their self-esteem gets a big boost. Our AMP camp makes learning music FUN and our summer camps are here to help you make this the best summer ever. We take special care to create awesome curriculums with some of the most talented, experienced, and innovative instructors that Missoula has to offer. We accept a maximum of 18 kids in each AMP camp in order to make sure every participant gets adequate attention and quality instruction, with each camp aimed at creating community connections, building self esteem, and helping youth to access their creative voice.
We are always looking for mentors and teachers for these rock camp programs, if you are a musician who is interested in teaching email [email protected].
