Chris and his family got the diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma which is a form of bone cancer at the beginning of this year. This news is not news that any parent wants to hear! Instantly, Chris was off to Dana Faber for a treatment plan! Chris would undergo intense rounds of chemotherapy that he had no idea would make him so deathly sick with many unexpected hospitalizations and needing blood transfusions! Chris started his freshman year a Greater New Bedford Voke this year where he has continued to try to be a normal freshman but his cancer is kicking his butt. Chris has had a toe ambulated to stop the spread of the cancer! Chris has lost at least 50lbs which has trigger a nutritionist to follow him closely and now it was determined he would need a NG tube to see if he would gain some of his weight back. Chris has lost muscle tone and is very deconditioned resulting in weakness with increased falls! Chris has little to no appetite and only wants certain foods. The food of choice are far and in between! Mom has lost a lot of time out of work to be able to be by Chris’ side through this difficult time. Let’s come together as a community to support Chris and his family! No one fights cancer alone!
