Join us to volunteer in the Bancroft Elementary school garden!
About the Project: The Bancroft Garden is a beloved centerpiece of the Bancroft Elementary School campus. The garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for Growing Healthy Kids Lead Garden Educator Alice Burns, community members, and students.
Projects Include: At this work day ("Move that Mulch" day!) volunteers will:
- Spread mulch to many garden areas
- Harvest Seeds
- Garden Cleanup & Maintenance
Access Notes: Activities for ages 5 and up, no experience necessary. Restroom availability is uncertain, so please plan accordingly. Event is accessible to wheelchair users. Bring sun protection, a water bottle, garden gloves, and rakes if you have them
You should Bring: Bring hats, water, garden gloves if you have them, sunscreen, and shoes that can get dirty.
