Bambouti is a folkloric dance from the maritime heritage. It is a dance that displays the trade and exchange of goods between the fishermen, sailors and sea merchants who work on small boats and trade with large ships passing through, docking at the entrance, or anchored in the ports of the Suez Canal. Mohamed started out as a dancer in 2001 with his Egyptian Dance Troupe, Elhorrya, in Alexandria, Virginia. He traveled and toured many countries for competitions and festivals for 15 years. Along with Egyptian folklore, he also specializes in salsa and modern dance. Mohamed’s specialty is an Egyptian Dance called tanoura.
Mohamed is passionate about Egyptian dance and loves teaching students this art form!
