One of our fellow MahJ Squad 901 players presented us with an opportunity to cross the border and play the game we all love with a group from Oxford, Mississippi.Here are the current details:
Who: MahJ Squad 901 players will host Oxford, Mississippi Mah Jongg players
What: A holiday luncheon called: Bam, Bird, in a Pear Tree
Where: The Oaks at Parkview Clubhouse - 8895 Oak Branch Lane, Olive Branch, MS 38654
When: Wednesday, December 11th Potluck begins at 11:30, MJ play begins at 12:30, wrap-up by 3:00. The space is reserved from 10:00 am till 4:00.
Why: We love the game, meeting new people, and adventures.
Bonus! They will host and feed our group in the Spring 2025.
We need at least 12 people to take part in this event to match the 12 or more people they are bringing from Oxford.
They have been playing together for about a year, more or less, and represent all levels of skill in their group. No tournament level players. They don’t play for money. They play for prizes, points, and bragging rights. Sounds familiar.

The “BIG ASK”: Will you commit to attending and bringing a potluck side dish to this event? We have a spiral ham available for the main entrée. If you have dietary restrictions, please feel free to bring your own dish: main or side.
Can you contribute a prize: door prize, 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place. The prize can be anything you might like to win Candy, gift card, craft, etc.
Can you contribute to a Holiday treat/gift bag for the Oxford players?
Special Hand Winner prize $5.00 for getting a special holiday MJ hand.
We will do a split the pot drawing: $5.00 for 3 tickets to help cover cost of club house rental.
We cannot do this without you. So, take a deep breath and jump in, the waters fine.
