*TOPIC: THE HIGHWAY OF HOLINESS.*
*MEMORIZE: "A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray." (Isaiah 35:8 NKJV)*
*SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 35:8-10.*
*“A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray. 9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there, 10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”*
*EXPOSITION:*
The Christian journey is often compared to a path or a road. In Isaiah 35:8, God speaks of a special road called the Highway of Holiness. This is not just any road—it is a path set apart for those who are redeemed, those who walk in righteousness, and those who seek to live according to God's will. Today, we will explore what it means to walk on this highway and how we can stay on it.
*1. THE HIGHWAY IS FOR THE REDEEMED (ISAIAH 35:9-10)*
This road is not for everyone. It is specifically for those who have been saved and cleansed by God. Sin cannot coexist with holiness. The unclean and wicked will not walk on this highway. To be on this road, we must first receive salvation through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
*2. THE HIGHWAY LEADS TO EVERLASTING JOY (ISAIAH 35:10)*
Those who walk on this path will eventually reach Zion, which represents the presence of God and eternal life. This road is filled with joy and gladness, not sorrow or sighing. Holiness brings true peace and fulfillment that the world cannot offer.
*3. THE HIGHWAY REQUIRES A LIFESTYLE OF HOLINESS (1 PETER 1:15-16)*
Holiness is not just a one-time decision but a daily walk. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, actions, and words. The Holy Spirit helps us to stay on this path by convicting us of sin and empowering us to live righteously.
*4. THE HIGHWAY HAS NO PLACE FOR COMPROMISE (HEBREWS 12:14)*
The road is narrow, meaning it does not allow for worldly distractions or compromises (Matthew 7:13-14). Many people start on this path but turn away because they are drawn by the pleasures of sin. We must remain steadfast, avoiding anything that could pull us away from God's presence.
*5. WALKING ON THE HIGHWAY REQUIRES FAITH AND OBEDIENCE (2 CORINTHIANS 7:1)*
Holiness is not about legalism but about a relationship with God. We walk in holiness by faith, trusting that God’s way is best. Obedience to God’s Word keeps us on the right path.
The Highway of Holiness is the path that leads to eternal joy, but it requires a commitment to righteousness. If we desire to walk on this road, we must surrender our lives to Christ, live in obedience, and seek to be holy in all we do. Let us examine our lives today—are we truly walking on the Highway of Holiness?

* If you have strayed from the path, return through repentance.
* Commit to daily walking in holiness with the help of the Holy Spirit.
