About this Event
We are excited to welcome Adam Weinert and His Dancers, highlighting their reconstruction of Ted Shawn’s Dance of the Ages (1938) an ensemble work by Ted Shawn and His Men Dancers, the first all-male dance company. Weinert’s recreation focuses on Shawn’s experimental technique and his under-recognized contributions to LGBTQIA+ history.
Observe archival footage and witness the dancers perform some of the archival solos live. Weinert and dancers will also lead a discussion as to why the need to reconstruct this work now was necessary and discuss some of the challenges they faced in doing so.
The Living Room Series is a a great way to get a closer look at the creative process and to meet and chat with the artists in a welcoming environment. Sit back, relax, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or strong cup of coffee and immerse yourself in art.
The Living Room Series is a donation based event. By purchasing a ticket in advance, this guarantees you an individual seat. Space is extremely limited and we encourage you to register in advance.
