About this Event
The Black Sea coast is the home of winemaking. From the heartland of Georgia in the east to the shores of Romania in the west and beyond and the broad vineyards of Bulgaria and Greece opening to the south.
Ancient as they are, the history of the Balkans and the Black Sea areas has been notoriously unsettled, and the vineyards have languished in obscurity until recently. Now the renaissance is underway with a wave of dynamic winemakers pushing the boundaries of what has been done previously and challenging western Europe's classic regions for quality, not to mention value.
Tonight we will open a range of bottles from great value drinking wines to game-changing cult cuvées from vineyards ranging from Greece to Ukraine.
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
