In true tradition of the infamous Balkan Sessions festivals, this intimate DJ-set version focuses on the latest evolutions of contemporary, innovative dance music from the east: from Eastern-Europe over the Arabic world to the Middle-East. Don’t expect (just) the usual ‘balkan’ bangers – we go much further with Bosnian Balkan brass, downtempo Romanian hiphop, übercooled Slovenian trap, psychedelic pop from Istanbul, Bulgarian ethnofolk, Serbian gipsy, Greek çifteteli, Polish Sevdah and some excursions to dabke and solid arabtech. We deliberately keep this dance floor intimate for the sake of music quality. Mnsr zér0 was the curator of the festival and resident DJ of all its after party’s._______________________________________
Geheel volgens de traditie van de beruchte Balkan Sessions festivals focust deze intieme DJ-set versie op de laatste evoluties van hedendaagse, innovatieve dansmuziek uit het Oosten: van de Balkan over de Arabische wereld tot het Midden-Oosten. Je voeten krijgen niet alleen de obligate balkan bangers te verduren, maar ook Bosnische Balkan Brass, downtempo Roemeense hiphop, übercoole Sloveense trap, psychedelische pop uit Istanbul, Bulgaarse ethnofolk, Servische gipsypunk, Griekse çifteteli, Poolse Sevdah en uitstapjes naar de Arabische wereld en het Midden-Oosten met opzwepende dabke en stevige arabtech. We kiezen bewust voor een kleinschalige dansvloer om de kwaliteit van de muziek hoog te houden. Mnsr zér0 was de programmator van het festival en draaide jarenlang alle afterparty’s.
