At Balebe, we value exploring culture in unique ways. We are excited to partner with Walk Worthy Brands for a unique STEM series for youth!
Our youth workshops are engaging and are designed to integrate scientific and artistic content for a comprehensive learning experience.
APRIL 22: Tuesday's Workshop will be focused on geography, proportionality and culture with each student creating a beaded flag utilizing a printed grid. This lessons promotes an understanding of symmetry, coordinates, graphing and color theory.
APRIL 24: Thursday's Workshop focuses on genetics and DNA with each student creating a beaded double-helix DNA strand utilizing beads. This lesson promotes an understanding of DNA structure, developing biological models and color theory.
Our workshops are appropriate for students in grades 4th-8th.

Host: Bahati Benjamin
Info: Bahati Benjamin is a researcher, mathematician and beading practitioner! Along with developing a creative wellness enterprise, Bahati has also been deeply involved with education as a science program manager and a former professor of introductory statistics at the University of Connecticut and Goodwin University for over 10 years.
Daemond Benjamin is a youth advocate, educational consultant and the founder of Walk Worthy Brands a social enterprise focusing on inspirational products and events. Daemond has worked extensively with youth, offering rites of passage programs and entrepreneurship mentorship opportunities for youth in the apparel printing space. This husband-and-wife team provides a unique approach to STEM workshops, offering engaging pedagogical teaching methods and restorative and community building practices within the educational realm.
