Balboa is a stylish and joyful swing dance typically performed to upbeat swing and jazz tunes. It features a close partner hold, intricate footwork, rhythmic patterns, and a mix of turns and open position movements. Like other swing styles, Balboa encourages dancers to blend various steps and moves in an entirely improvised manner, allowing for creativity and personal expression on the dance floor.So why not join us for our forthcoming Balboa workshop, designed for beginners and also perfect for those looking to refine their basics and build confidence on the dance floor. Whether you're new to Balboa or have some experience, this workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the joy of this beautiful dance.
We'll start slowly, introducing material step by step in a thoughtful and progressive manner throughout the day, with plenty of opportunities to practice and ask questions. By the end of the day, you'll be dancing basic Balboa with confidence and joy.
After the workshop, we'll have a short social dance where you can practise what you've learned, ask questions and dance with your new bal pals.

What to expect:
Balboa is danced in close proximity so please be considerate wearing fresh comfortable clothing and avoid overpowering fragrances. Opt for footwear with a slippy sole for comfort, and note that we will be rotating partners throughout the lesson. If you prefer not to rotate, simply make us aware on the day.

13.00 - 13.50 Class 3 (followed by 10min break)
14.00 - 14.50 Class 4
14.50 - 16.00 Optional Social Dancing
