Faye and Adam are looking forward to teaching a beginner-level Balboa workshop! This is suitable for complete beginners and those in the early stages of their Balboa learning.
Balboa is a dreamy partner dance that originated in the crowded ballrooms of California in the twenties and thirties and is danced in a closer hold than with Lindy Hop. It takes up less space on the dance floor and is ideal when the tempo picks up. You can mix it in with your Lindy Hop too!
IMPORTANT: Footwear - please bring shoes with slippy soles to wear for the workshop. Leather or suede soles are ideal. If you don't have slippy soles, try wrapping some strong wide tape around the front part of the shoe or just on the soles (make sure you won't ruin them in the process!) so that they slide nicely under the balls of the feet. The workshop will take place downstairs: entry is via the passage to the right of the main entrance.
One Church is in central Brighton, less than 10 minutes walk from the station and close to major bus routes. If you do need to drive, the nearest car park is just off Trafalgar Street.
TICKETS
£16 / £12 student/unwaged early bird (plus booking fee) until Friday 14th February, then £20/£14. Advance tickets via Dancecloud only.
**If the ticket type you're interested in is currently not available, please join the waitlist. Lead + couple pairs skip the waitlist as this doesn't affect the role ratio in class, so if you're signing up with a partner, make sure you sign up together.**
CANCELLATION
Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to another dancer of the appropriate role and experience level. Please notify us at [email protected] if you wish to transfer your ticket.
WAIVER
Dancing is a physical activity and you attend Swing City events at your own risk. Any injury or loss is your own responsibility. The organisers and venue cannot be held responsible in any circumstance.
