About this Event
Art & Movement - Art of Elan returns to the San Diego Museum of Art with two special concerts that explore the intersection of art and movement. Taking inspiration from artists John Sennhauser and George Rickey, listeners are invited on a musical journey that highlights kinetic energy as a means of expression, re-invigorating us individually and collectively.
Tied to George Rickey's "Two Lines Oblique: San Diego," this diverse program features a commissioned work by Jory Herman along with "Danza de los Saqsampillos" by Gabriela Lena Frank for two marimbas. Alyssa Morris' "Motion" for winds adds a playful element to this musical mosaic, which also includes music by Arthur Honegger.
