Bal Feirste is delighted to welcome "Isabelle Blô" as our next guest musician from France. Isabelle is a proficient multi-instrumentalist who specialises in traditional music and dances from Central France; she plays bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, percussion, recorder and whistle.
Isabelle is well known in France, GB, Belgium and Switzerland.
We look forward to dancing to her glorious music; there will be some tuition during the evening. No experience necessary, no need to bring a partner

Costs:
£12 if you purchase your ticket in advance via Eventbrite
£16 on the night - cash only

Numbers are limited - book early to avoid disappointment. Online sales will finish at noon on the day before the event for admin purposes.
Doors will open at 18.45

We currently meet once a month (excluding July and August), and include a mix of repeated dances and 1 or 2 new dances each month, as well as a repeat of dances taught at our workshops.
Balfolk is a form of folk dancing that is very popular across Europe. Our evening will include a wide variety of dances; from the repetitive and hypnotic Breton chains, lively and intricate bourrées from central France, rhythmic energetic solo dances from the Pays Basque, couple dances and progressive dances - something for everyone.

Getting in!
Please note that An Droichead's pedestrian gate will not be open. As you enter Cooke Street, the carpark for An Droichead is the first set of gates on the left. Entry to the building is via the carpark, from there, walk past the mobile classroom on your right, and turn right. The main red brick building will be on your left, walk straight ahead to the metal gate, and take a left.
The bal will take place on the upper floor of the main red-bricked building.

There is a carpark at the venue, if you haven't been before, turn into Cooke Street, and the carpark is the first set of open gates on the left - you will see a Bal Feirste sign just before the first mobile building on the right, walk past this building and take a right, walk straight ahead and through another gate. At this point you will see a red brick building on the left and we will be performing upstairs in this building.
