Join us in our brand-new professional kitchens at Inspire Learning Centre, High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield, for a one-off course. Create a selection of delicious hand-made cookies.
Learn how to make chocolate chip cookies and Bakewell cookies.
This course is an beginners guide to learn about cookies made with fresh ingredients.
You will learn skills and techniques to bake from scratch including how to make chocolate chip cookies and Bakewell cookies. .

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
• How to make a chocolate chip cookie
• How to make a Bakewell cookie
Learners will have produced a selection of teatime cookie treats to share with their family or friends.
Resources required by attendees:
Ingredients chocolate chip cookie:
- 125g unsalted butter
- 100g light brown sugar
- 75g white granulated sugar
- 1 medium egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
- 300g Plain flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 300 g chocolate chips (150g dark and 150g milk)
- Additional flavours and colours of choice.
Equipment:
- Apron
- Container to carry biscuits home in.
Ingredients Bakewell cookie:
- 125g unsalted butter
- 100g light brown sugar
- 75g white granulated sugar
- 1 large/ medium egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 275g Plain flour
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 150g white chocolate chips
- 50g flaked almonds.
- 100g glace cherries.
Equipment:
- Trays with baking parchment
- Apron Container to carry biscuits home in.
- Note pad and pen.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:
- Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
- Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.
You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking. If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.
To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
