Baker Island are a Newcastle based 5-piece fuzzy/noisy/jangly indie rock band. Taking influences from bands such as Pavement, My Bloody Valentine, Camera Obscura and Sonic Youth, the band creates a blend of pop hooks but with just enough discordant noise to even things out.The band have performed at Indietracks Festival 2015, Newcastle's Evolution Emerging Festival 2016, and alongside Jeffrey Lewis, The Research, Allo Darlin', Witching Waves, The Wave Pictures and The Lovely Eggs, and have received radio plays on Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music amongst others. After a hiatus, a third album, 'There's Nothing Really Pleasant Inside Anyway', is due in 2024.
