Charlotte!! Come join Afincao as we host workshops and our social on Saturday, March 7th.

This social will be featuring the incredible world-renowned Marisol Blanco.

Marisol Blanco began studying folkloric Afro-Cuban dance when she was 8 years old. She studied dance (specializing in folkloric dance) at the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba and later was a dance teacher/choreographer at the Escuela Nacional de Arte. Her work constitutes training teachers and dancers at a community level and higher institutions on the Afro-Cuban diasporic tradition. She earned popularity through her learning program “HPS” emphasizing the connection between history, percussion, song, step/body expression/technique, philosophy, psychology, and methodology creating an environment of support, motivation, creativity, and curiosity.

Workshop Details: (workshops will be capped at 30 people)

First Workshop- 1:00 - 2:30 pm

Second Workshop- 3:00- 4:30 pm

Social Details:

• Time: Doors open at 10 PM, Shows start at 11:30P M, Social ends at 2 AM

• Single Workshop: $30
• Both Workshops: $50
• Social only: $20
• Full Pass (includes both workshops and admission to the social): $60
