BAHT are pleased to announce that the 2021 annual conference will be held in the vibrant City of Manchester!
Following the success of the 2020 webinar series, we are hosting our first hybrid conference to allow people the choice between physical and virtual attendance* and allow delegates from all over the world to attend. The virtual option also provides reassurance despite any future restrictions relating to Covid-19, this years’ conference will go ahead!
After a year of uncertainty, disruption and redeployment due to Covid-19, we have decided to theme the conference on 'Back to Basics', giving hand therapists 'old and new' the opportunity to touch base with our core skills and remind us what we love about the profession.
We are pleased to announce Professor Dominic Furniss as this years keynote speaker. Dominic is a renowned Professor of Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery and a Consultant Hand, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. Dominic has a strong background in research covering genetic and non-genetic causes of common hand conditions including Dupuytren’s Disease and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Dominic is an excellent speaker, supportive of hand therapy and we are excited to have him as keynote speaker in this years conference programme.
Following on from previous years, the programme will feature a mix of plenary lectures, symposia and breakout sessions including:
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Fractures
• Acquired conditions
A conference dinner/networking opportunity is included in all physical 2-day conference tickets; the dinner will take place on Friday 1st October at Indian Street Food restaurant Scene. A set menu will be served comprising a variety of starters, mains and desserts. Vegetarian/vegan choices will be available.
*The pricing structure for physical and virtual tickets is the same due to the substantial costs involved in live streaming content on an interactive platform. All physical 2-day ticket holders will be invited to attend conference dinner. All other physical ticket holders are welcome to book a place at the dinner. BAHT is a non-profit charitable organisation and fees are set to cover costs only.*
