Bagbazar Walks - On 159th birth anniversary of Sister NiveditaSaturday, October 25, 2025
3:45pm to 7:30pm
Starting place : Nivedita Museum, 16A Ma Saradamoni Sarani, Kolkata 700003. Guests are requested to report at this meeting point latest by 3:45pm. The tour will start from Nivedita Museum at 4pm.
Ending point : Bagbazar Bichali Ghat
Three days after, i.e. on October 28, is the birthday of Sister Nivedita. We take this opportunity to conduct a curated Walking tour in Bagbazar. Sister Nivedita was initiated into the vow of Brahmacharya on 25th March 1898 by Swamiji. This makes it 127 years this year. This year also marks the 127th year of the Ramakrishna Mission. Take a look at the place where it all started.
A curated walking tour brought to you by Kolkata Explorers (a division of Green Step Tourism) to acquaint you with the core of Bagbazar from the colonial times to post independence.

Flat walking shoes (or sandals) as you will be required to open them at many places before entering
