BADWEST HOLIDAY HANGOUT AND FUNDRAISER
Inspired by our recent workshop with Paris McCoy, Executive Director of Tec Leimert and Jonathan Williams, Producer of Immersive Content—Reframing Reality: Documentary Film Through Immersive Technology—the Generative AI Video Competition gives BADWest members an opportunity to experiment with emerging AI technologies by submitting a 30-90 second AI generated documentary video. Selected by Paris and Jonathan, the top three submissions will be screened during the Holiday Gathering and Fundraiser, and one winner will be awarded a prize!The festive evening will also feature bites and drinks and a chance to mingle with fellow filmmakers.
Of course, no BADWest gathering would be complete without our beloved Black Doc Trivia! Bring your thinking cap for a chance to win a prize or two!In the spirit of the holidays, we are turning our annual holiday gathering into a mini fundraiser by extending an invite to our community of supporters — including you — to join us as we say goodbye to 2025. By purchasing a ticket to our Holiday Hangout and Fundraiser, you’ll be directly supporting BADWest in its mission to champion and advocate for the art of Black documentary across the diaspora.BADWest members attend for free.
