About this Event

Bad Faith: Christian Nationalism's Unholy War on Democracy

St. John Paul II condemned “nationalism, which teaches contempt for other nations or cultures” as “the antithesis of true patriotism.” He warned that “today we must ensure that extreme nationalism does not continue to give rise to new forms of the aberrations of totalitarianism.”

This film traces how far-right political and religious leaders use faith to justify Christian nationalism that is denounced by the Catholic Church and threatens U.S. democracy.

Following the screening, there will be a presentation by Anne Nelson, author of Shadow Network: Media, Money, and the Secret Hub of the Radical Right which is featured in the film.
