A peek behind the scenes with DC 's legendary bluegrass musician Tom Gray. It's gonna be an unforgettable experience!
About this Event

Join us for an intimate afternoon with Tom Gray, founding member of the legendary bluegrass band The Seldom Scene and a two-time Bluegrass Hall of Fame inductee. This special event weaves together music and storytelling as Tom shares highlights from his remarkable career.

Tom grew up right here in Northwest DC, back when today’s Palisades was known as Potomac Heights. Along with unforgettable music, he’ll share his history with the community, offering a rare glimpse into the neighborhood’s past through the eyes of a future bluegrass legend. The conversation will be guided by Mark Segraves of NBC4 and The After Dark Fund.

Adding to the experience, Tom will be joined by his band , who will perform dynamic traditional, modern, and original bluegrass interludes with their signature harmony and style. Formed in 2010, Blue Spruce features Andrew Tontala (vocals, guitar), Barb Diederich (vocals, mandolin, bass), Shige Takeshita (vocals, banjo), Dave Goldman (fiddle), and two-time Bluegrass Hall of Fame inductee Tom Gray (vocals, bass, mandolin).

This is a unique show not to be missed—a rare chance to go backstage with Tom Gray, celebrate the enduring spirit of bluegrass, and connect with the history of the Palisades neighborhood.
