Backpack For Life Project Supporting Homeless and At-risk Veterans
Join the Dallas Police Department and the Marine Corps League for a special event where we will be collecting items for the Backpack For Life Project kits to support our homeless and at-risk veterans. The Backpack For Life Project pack provides a unique and personalized support system to homeless and at-risk veterans. A backpack is not only a symbol of hope for many of our veterans but also their mobile home and something that they are very familiar with. The BFL pack consists of 3 kits (listed below). All 3 kits are needed to complete each backpack.
The Backpack For Life project offers the first-ever military grade backpack, designed and engineered with a homeless veteran in mind. "Empowering veterans, by offering them a sense of security in their well-being is the foundation of this cause.” This backpack will provide veterans with personalized assistance based on their personal needs.
The Dallas Police Department and the Marine Corps League are partnering to make this event a success. We will be collecting and accepting donation items and monetary donations for the Backpack For Life Project from June 1, 2024- July 7, 2024. You may drop items off at any Dallas Police Station during the listed dates. You may also donate on Eventbrite or purchase items directly from Amazon by using the below Amazon registry link. Our goal is to collect all the kit items to fill 100 backpacks and provide our veterans with the basic necessities.
Donation Day
Saturday, July 13, 2024, is the Backpack For Life Project Donation Day at Dallas Police Headquarters from 9am-1pm. Items and monetary donations will only be accepted at Dallas Police Headquarters on Donation Day. Your donation will make a huge difference in someone's life. Let's come together as a community to show our appreciation for those who have served our country.

The Donations Day event will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Dallas Police Headquarters only from 9am-1pm. You may drop off items and make donations at the Donation Day event.
