The Backhall Boogie Returns February 8thThe Backhall Boogie series from Concerts Denman returns with DJ Inuk and DJ Eliazar on Feb 8th from 7-11pm. We start the events early so all ages can get out for a shimmy shake regardless of your normal bedtimes. Inuk and I have DJ'ed together many times over the years, and he plays at all the YANA fundraising events, where I have had the honor to share the stage with him. These events are all ages, and $10 at the door, $5 for teenagers, and free for anyone 12 & under. We cover all kinds of dance music; Electronica, Bass, World Beat, Balkan Beat, Ghetto Funk, House, Soul, Drum and Bass, Funk, Techno, Electro Swing, Hip Hop, Reggae, Vintage Remix, and more. Here is a bit about our visiting DJ for the month.
Inuk started this musical journey at a very young age on Lasqueti Island. For the last 25 years, he has made appearances on festival stages, at community halls, nightclubs in Victoria and Vancouver, breweries, and all kinds of different venues and events up and down the coast. From Victoria to Sointoula, island beaches to mountain tops, remote and off grid celebrations are a specialty for Inuk.
Bringing silky smooth mixes, with a wide range of musical influence, prepare yourself and your friends for a journey in music! With smooth mid tempo grooves, drum and bass, house music, and just all around fun and dynamic sounds to delight your ears and soul. And don't forget to pack your dancing shoes, you are definitely going to need those!
