About this Event
Discover a different side of Wind Wolves Preserve on a guided hike along the stunning and remote El Camino Viejo Wilderness Trail! The hike is an out-and-back route (approximately 3 miles) of moderate difficulty recommended for ages 10 and up. **NOTE: The trail is located about 5 miles from the main parking lot. (Program duration includes travel time to trailhead).
Event is free, but participants must register and can choose to either ride with staff or drive a personal vehicle (recommended for high-clearance vehicles only).
Please plan to arrive at the Crossing parking lot by 9:15 am for check-in. From there, we will drive on the canyon road to the trailhead. High-clearance vehicles are highly recommended, but 4 wheel-drive is not needed (if signed up to drive personal vehicle).
Space is limited! Reservations open December 8th, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.

About Us
Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
TWC is a private, non-profit organization that operates more than 25 preserves along the west coast. Our mission is "To preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature."
