Escape the cold and learn about Michigan’s aquatic life with vertebrate biologist John Rowe
Vertebrates, especially fish (“ichs”), are the most frequently encountered creatures during SCUBA diving. A surprising diversity of “bony fish” representing vastly different and sometimes ancient lineages are common in the Great Lakes. Less common, but no less interesting, are a handful of amphibians and reptiles (herps) that we may find alongside us during our dives.
Join us as we explore and no doubt exchange anecdotes about some ichs and aquatic herps of the Michigan.
