Back2School (19th Annual) Volunteer Registration

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Special Needs Network proudly invites you to support the 17th Annual Back2School Community Health and Resource Fair.

This is a fun-filled day for children with autism, special needs, their siblings, peers, families, and communities that serve them. We have 100 resource vendors, health and mental health screenings, activities, games, food and backpacks, and school supplies for over 1000 kids who will attend. To pull this event off, we will need the help of several volunteers!

We will need volunteers as early as 7:00 am to help with setup, stuffing backpacks, manning arts & crafts tables, serving snacks, etc.

Shift 1: 7:00 AM-10 AM (Event Set Up)

Shift 2: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM (During Event)

Shift 3: 1:00 PM-4:00 PM (End of Event & Event Breakdown)

This program unites special needs families with families of typically developing children, vested community partners, and local civic leaders for a day of education, information, and rejuvenation. SNN provides free backpacks and other school supplies to hundreds of children ages 3-18. Resource booths keep families updated on available services in the community, and therapists are trained in encouraging inclusive play to facilitate specially designed games for the children. Activities are geared to facilitate social interaction, language development, and acquiring new skills. This event includes a massive health fair with free dental and medical screenings for children and health seminars for adults.

NOTE

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be part of an organization or accompanied by an adult. If you are a parent Volunteer we ask that you please do NOT bring a small child or you not be able to volunteer and we just be encouraged to participate in the event and activities.
